THE WOLF IN STORYTELLING

I have swapped the narrative in three well-known western stories- Where the wolf usually is te antagonist, I now challenge the narrative to one where the wolf is the protagonist.

It explores how we view nature or simply our views of good/bad based on the stories we tell eachother. Views and stories that we carry with us from children to adults.

Narrative of The Wolf
Book Cover Design
2022

Most top predators in Europe has gone exctinct because of human activity. They have been viewed as humans biggest enemy for centuries. We can see that in the stories we tell eachother, where the wolf is often the antagonist. This project shifts the narrative of the wolf in a few of our beloved tales. One which acknowledges its crucial role for ecological flourishing and nature as a whole. A reaction to the ongoing wolf-debate.

The wolves role on the ecosystem has been well represented in Yellowstones reintroduction of wolves and how that affected the landscape. That was the inspiring find that led me to dig deeper into our current, and perhaps unjustified view of the wolf.
